Position Purpose: Assist in the provision of usual and customary casework for services associated with the resettling of refugees. Assist caseworker in serving as a contact for refugees through the resettlement and placement period as well as appropriate assistance through the 180 day resettlement period. Provide or arrange for interpretation services as needed.
Essential Position Duties:
Service Delivery
• Provide resettlement assistance for refugee arrival.
• Provide assistance or referral for legal issues of clients.
• Provide or arrange for interpretation services.
• Assist in arrangement and instruction of parenting classes, driver’s instruction classes and cultural orientation sessions.
Community Relations
• Work with community organizations to provide referral services to clients.
• Develop community support and volunteers to assist in organization program.
Position Requirements:
• 17 years of age or older
• High School Diploma/GED
• U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident
• Valid NE driver’s license
• Work well in a multi-cultural environment
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Must be flexible to scheduling time regarding evenings and weekends
Criminal history, child abuse registry, adult abuse registry, sex offenders registry, Department of Motor Vehicles records checks will all be completed prior to offer of enrollment.
