SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF WORK
- Entry-level professional positions begin at this level. Educational requirements are very specific. Decision-making skills and problem solving capabilities are critical. Focus on initiating pro-active planning with families and youth.
PREFERRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in social work or related field
- Experience with in-home services preferred
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Forms working relationship with parents by showing respect and regard for them.
- Provides in-home service to families to meet treatment goals.
- Provides parent education in the areas of growth and development, positive guidance and discipline.
- Assists family in maintaining physical home surroundings which meet basic needs; utilizing safety measures; following basic health practices; and learning to manage finances.
- Provides crisis intervention as needed.
- Coordinates services when delivered from multiple sources.
- Has working knowledge of metro area community resources.
- Assists family in effectively using community resources.
- Completes all case documentation and evaluation as required.
- Maintains direct service ratio in providing services to families.
- Provides direct shelter service coverage as required by program need.
- Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling and attendance.
- Is prompt and accurate in completing all required reports, statistics, and other requirements.
- Displays a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele, volunteers, and visitors of the Agency.
- Cooperates and collaborates with program area staff, volunteers, and other Agency staff.
- Abides by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements.
- Develops personal and program related skills through participation in internal or external training opportunities including printed material and audio and/or video media.
- Performs other program related duties as assigned.
