Job Purpose:

Ensure revenue maximization and profitability of banquet budget and room revenue goals for the sales and catering department.  This position is responsible for generating top line revenue for the hotel and assisting the Director of Sales in achieving departmental goals as well as supervising Catering Managers.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Leads, trains and mentors catering staff including hiring, coaching development, perfoming evaluations, discliplinary actions and terminations.
• Recognized as the driver of all catering revenues and ensures the quarterly and annual revenue goals are achieved for the hotel.
• Develops marketing plans and evaluates trends to modify strategies that will enhance revenues effectively.
• Maintains a close working relationship with the Director of Food and Beverage, Chef and Banquet Manager.
• Directs the catering sales effort to ensure revenue maximization with a working knowledge of food and beverage compositions and an understanding of kitchen and banquet service procedures.
• Uses strong leadership skills to lead Banquet Event Order meetings, pre- and post-conference meetings, sales meetings, etc.

Position Requirements:

• Professional appearance
• Strong communication skills
•  A four year degree in business administration or sales and marketing, and three or more year's banquet or meeting planner experience, or the equivalent industry experience. 
• Prior hotel and supervisory experience preferred.
