Position Description

 

Mohawk Industries, the world's largest flooring manufacturer, seeks an Electrical Engineering Tech for our Dalton, GA facility.

Electrical Engineering Tech

Electrical Engineering Techs provide valuable support to our manufacturing process and operations through troubleshooting, new installation and migration of automation equipment into existing systems. As an Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for various projects directed by Department Leaders, Business Unit Sr. Leadership, and Plant Management. Projects consist of installing programmable automation controllers, including PLC, as well as other automation equipment, installing and developing applications for Human Machine Interface (HMI), variable frequency drives in stand-alone applications, as well as integrating into existing systems, installing new equipment and integrating into existing control systems. You will be asked to develop project documentation including CAD drawings and technical specifications.

You must have certification/diploma in electrical technology from an accredited school or Associate's degree and/or demonstrated years of related work experience. Technical certification is preferred. Using your knowledge and skills learned from education, as well as two or more (2+) years of experience in repairing, maintaining and installing electrical equipment, systems and/or applications, you will provide excellent support to the manufacturing teams. In this role, you will be expected to communicate effectively both through verbal communication and written communication with employees at all levels within the organization.

You will be expected to work in a safe and effective manner providing timely support to projects you are assigned. You must have the ability to travel locally as well as domestically. You will also be asked to work evenings, weekends and holidays and be reached by phone, 7 days/week, 24 hours/day as needed. You will also need and maintain a valid driver's license.
