Fortwood Center, a private, nonprofit mental health organization, was founded in 1947 as one of the first outpatient mental health centers in Tennessee. Our goal is to relieve the destructive symptoms of mental illness with proper treatment and services. Through a detailed outpatient evaluation and treatment plan, Fortwood Center helps adults and children re-engage in family, school, work and life responsibilities. Fortwood Center is now the largest provider of outpatient mental health care in the Chattanooga area.
