Performs maintenance work with the degree of skill of a Journeyman; highly skilled in craft trades such as mechanics, machinist, etc.
Performs tasks assigned by supervisor based on talent and different projects.
Responsible for the repair of any existing equipment, installation of new equipment or new parts on existing equipment.
Maintains all equipment in a preventative and predictive way (lubrication schedules, inspections of equipment - cranes, hammers, etc.).
Repair press to forge tooling; layout and mount die sets and do die maintenance.
Perform general welding; good brazing and cutting of complex shapes with cutting torch.
Perform a variety of repair work such as assisting in furnace and induction coil repairs, simple repairs on dies, press tooling and forge dies.
Operate all power hand tools and operate all types of tool room equipment (lathe, mill, drill, saw, grinders, etc.).
Have basic skills in pipe fitting, carpentry and/or electrical.
Perform other related duties such as: general housekeeping, maintenance of all tools, spare parts and supplies and other duties as assigned.
High school graduate or equivalent required. Five years experience in a mechanic profession, the ability to weld, do machine work and general maintenance repair work. Ability to read machine detail blue prints. Read and use close tolerance shop measuring tools, and use standard shop math.
Note: All maintenance positions will be required to work at either plant (EC/GW) as needed.
