City of Sidney, Ne is seeking a Chief of Police.  $1.3 million annual budget and 14 sworn FT officers and 2 civilian employees.  Desirable candidates must have high ethical standards; knowledge of police administration' criminal, civil and personnel law; proven management, budgeting and leadership skills.  Must interact effectively with the City Manager, City Council, dept. heads and the public.  Partial requirements.  Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice or a related field preferred;  Current full-time police employment with at least 6 years of experience, 3 of which have been as a supervisory officer; Valid Nebraska driver's license; Basic Certification and Management/Supervisory Certification thru the Nebr.
