The company was founded in 1902 as a small print shop located in downtown Chattanooga, TN and remained primarily a printing operation until 1979 when it developed a pull-apart fragrance system that could be used to deliver a fragrance rendition on paper. That system, know as Scentstrip sampler, is now routinely used by all major fragrance houses to advertise their products in magazines.
Today, building on a heritage of innovation, the Arcade portfolio includes a complete range of proprietary, patented and patent pending technologies that offer the consumer the opportunity to sample a wide range of products including cream, gel and lotion treatment and personal care products, color cosmetics including powder blush, eyeshadow, lipstick and foundation and any product where scent is part of the sell i.e. hair care, household products, even automobiles. Arcade customers include Estee Lauder, Calvin Klein, Proctor & Gamble, Revlon, Clairol, Avon, and Coty, among others.
All major administrative, manufacturing, and product research and development activities are conducted in three separate facilities located in Chattanooga. In recent years, the company has experienced a rapid growth in both sales and employment opportunities and currently employs approximately 250 hourly and 120 salaried employees in those facilities.
Many of the jobs that become available at Arcade Marketing, Inc. are for positions typical of the printing industry and, within the hourly ranks, include skilled printing press operators, press helpers, shipping/receiving/warehouse employees and pre-press digital technicians.
The salaried positions that are typical of the printing industry include Estimators, Customer Service Representatives, Print Quality Inspectors and Camera Department personnel. In addition to print-related jobs, the company employs laboratory technicians and other professional and clerical personnel in finance, human resources, quality, and manufacturing.
