This position is responsible for providing expert medical analysis of complex claims files. This includes such matters as providing opinions on work capacity, on the presence or absence of pre-existing conditions, on diagnostic criteria and therapeutic approaches to medical conditions and other determinations.

 
WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION?
     
    • Provides timely and accurate medical analyses and opinions to the Benefits Operations staff.
    • Applies current medical knowledge to medical data regarding diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and impairment, etc.
    • Conducts 1 on 1 and group training to improve the Benefits Operations staff's knowledge and efficiency.
    Interacts with the insured's attending healthcare provider(s).


    WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
       
       
      • Professional Degree (PhD,MD,DO).
      • Board certified.
      • Active, unrestricted US license.
      • Five years of clinical experience in Occupational Medicine, Internal Medicine, Family Practice, General Medicine, Orthopedic Medicine, Rheumatology, Infectious Disease, Psychiatry, PM & R or other medical specialties.
      • Experience in private disability insurance or other corporate environment preferred.
      • Analytical and critical thinking skills.
      • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
      • Excellent interpersonal/negotiation skills.
      • Ability to mentor others.
      • Strong team and collaborative skills. Ability to work in a fast paced, team based, corporate environment.
