Position Description

This position will coordinate facets of the programs in the Office of Cooperative Education and Exchange Programs for undergraduate and graduate students. Programs currently include: National Student Exchange Program, Cooperative Education Program, International Exchange and Study Abroad Programs, Washington Center Internship Program, Disney College Program. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Director to establish and manage UTC’s Center for International Programs.
  • Providing leadership for continued development to advance internationalization at UTC.
  • Promoting the international vision to on-campus and off-campus constituencies and stakeholders.
  • Assisting the Director and faculty in planning, budgeting, and operating UTC faculty-led study abroad programs.
  • Serving as UTC’s Assistant Responsible Officer (ARO) for J-1 Visas.
  • Expanding relationships with internal and external constituencies at the campus, local, state, national, and international levels.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s preferred
  • Minimum of two year’s experience in Cooperative Education, International Programs, National Student Exchange, career counseling, human resources, or student services.
  • Must have traveled, studied, lived, or worked abroad OR worked for a study abroad office or international organization.
  • Must demonstrate understanding of current issues in international education, such as student and scholar visa issues, English proficiency requirements, campus-wide international programs, exchanges and partnerships, curriculum integration, and study abroad innovations.
  • Must have strong marketing, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Prefer experience in obtaining and administering federal, state and foundation grants.
  • Prefer oral, written, and reading proficiency in a foreign language.
