Minimum $8.00/hr. ($8.50 after completing NCIC certification.) 

Serves as Communications Officer/Dispatcher.  

Responsibilities include: 

• provides liaison and disseminates critical information between public and public safety personnel
• directs police and security officers to emergency/routine calls for services
• coordinates emergency responses units during crisis situations
• maintains appropriate logs, records, reports
• accesses local, state, and federal computerized criminal information
• operates a variety of communicating, recording, and electronic devices
• patrolling the University and buildings on foot or in a vehicle
• providing assistance to motorists
• taking reports
• assisting with traffic control, escorts, and crowd management 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• High school graduate or equivalent
• at least 18 years of age and a U.S. citizen
• no conviction, guilty plea, or "no contest" plea to any felony charge or violation of any federal or state laws or city ordinances relating to force, violence, theft, dishonesty, gambling, liquor, or controlled substances
• not have been released or discharged under other than honorable or medical discharge from the U.S. Armed Forces
• must be able to pass a (post-offer) physical and psychological examination
• have good moral character as determined by a thorough investigation conducted by the University Police
• be eligible for NCIC certification
• possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously under stressful conditions
