Social Services Trainee/Worker

Assess needs and determine eligibility for individuals and families for economic and family support programs (e.g. Food Stamps, financial, and Medicaid services) in accordance with state and federal regulations and policies. Interview, gather and verify information regarding income, resources, household composition, etc. Compute budgets and document activities using the states computer system (NFOCUS).
REQUIREMENTS: Experience in a health and/or human services field OR 24 semester hours of post-high school education in behavioral sciences, public/business administration, social sciences, or closely related field OR any combination of education and experience in any of the above fields. Must have basic math, strong computer, key boarding, organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to read, understand, apply, and explain complex regulations and policies. Valid driver’s license or ability to provide authorized independent transportation. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish preferred.
